On May 17th at 7:00 PM, cyclists across Ohio will again take to the road, joining our brothers and sisters globally in the 2023 Ride of Silence (RofS), a silent procession to honor and celebrate the lives of family and friends injured or killed while cycling on public roadways. Though cyclists have a legal right to the road, the motoring public often is not aware of this, nor in some cases aware of cyclists on the roadway.
The first RofS was organized in Dallas, TX in 2003 when a nationally ranked endurance cyclist was killed by a passing bus. With each passing year the RofS continues to grow. In 2021, the RofS took place in 405 locations worldwide, in 44 states, 11 countries on 5 continents,
with 11 events held in Ohio.
Please check your specific ride location for details as some locations may have special programming for the event. This page will be updated as ride details are confirmed. If you're interested in organizing a RofS in your community, please contact
Keith Webb, Ohio Ride of Silence Coordinator.
